Lucia Vaquero was invited to participate as an expert speaker in the Keynote Panel during the Nunchi Summit 2025 which finally took place on April 5th.
During the panel, interesting questions were discussed jointly with the rest of the panelists around the effects of technology in mental health: Andrew Chang, Dr. ReJoyce Green, and Justine Bautista. Among other topics and questions raised by the audience, the helping or harmful effect of technology, the use of AI in mental health care and whether this could substitute human therapists or not, or the accessibility of digital mental health were discussed. After the general panel session, breakout rooms were created to discuss one-on-one with the different speakers. LV was in charge of the breakout room focused on social media and mental health.
In addition, icebreaker and introduction games, mental-health trivia, and presentation of mental well-being journeys were part of the agenda where mental health prevention and care for youth of migrant descent was as the center.
The SMART study / program was briefly mentioned during the keynote panel session, and the feedback received around the project and the study of social media effects on youth mental health were very positive and interesting. LV is immensely grateful to have been invited to participate in such an inspiring event and get to meet such a supportive and interesting community!
See you next year, Nunchi Health community!
