The American Composers Orchestra (ACO) and our scientific team found each other back in 2022 in a very serendipitous way, but from the first conversation, both parts knew they were the perfect partner for achieving each others’ goals, specifically, in the context of the SMART project. Collaborating with ACO has been a dream from the first day and our research team is thankful beyond limits to their continuous flexibility and openness, and overall support.

They were also kind enough to invite our Prinpicipal Investigator, Prof. Pablo Ripollés, and MSCA postdoctoral fellow Lucía Vaquero to their 2024 Gala and Creative Catalyst Awards. This was the perfect way of celebrating our collaboration, and get to know other members of the ACO-community, their values and projects. In addition, this context gave us the perfect opportunity to discuss and explain the SMART project and our super exciting preliminary results, that support ACO’s educational programs vision, validating the use of music for well-being, specifically to preserve and enhance youth’s mental health.

We are delighted to count with ACO as part of our team, and can not wait to kick off a new intervention round with them, trying to replicate and expand our current findings.
