Prof. Pablo Ripollés, one of the PIs from NYU crucially involved and overseeing all activities in the SMART project, was recently invited to participate in the science-oriented comedy show Wrong Answers Only. Wrong Answers Only is an interactive show featuring celebrity guests who play games and quizzes while learning about exciting research with the help of a scientific expert. This show is one of the initiatives from LabX, a public engagement testbed at the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) that boldly experiments with a variety of creative —sometimes even unorthodox— approaches designed to approach scientific knowledge and innovations to diverse audiences.
Thus, on September 14th, Wrong Answers Only was carried out with Prof. Ripollés’ participation. In this program, concepts of music cognition and music neuroscience and, especially, ideas focused around reward processes and music preferences, were explained and discussed in a fun way throughout the evening. The event was a success, with a high hybrid participation and many attendees asking interesting questions to Prof. Ripollés. The recording of this Wrong Answers Only event can be found on YouTube (see video below).
